Charmaine Wilson is set to begin her second full year in 2025-26 at Bethune-Cookman serving as the Special Assistant to the Athletic Director.

Prior to her return to Bethune-Cookman in the spring of 2024, Wilson served 13 seasons at the helm of the women's basketball program at Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Florida. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in athletics, reuniting with the B-CU Family.

During her stint with Edward Waters, Wilson compiled in excess of 200 wins with her teams notching winning seasons in the last nine consecutive years. Wilson also led the Tigers to three (3) 20-win seasons (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18). During the 2017-18 season, she guided Edward Waters to a program best 25-6 overall record which featured a modern-era program record 14-game winning streak – including the program's first appearance in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) Tournament title game.

The Tigers repeated their GCAC championship game appearance in 2018-19 on their home floor at the Adams- Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex, and once again during the 2020-21 campaign, respectfully.

Wilson led Edward Waters to the program's first GCAC Women's Basketball co-regular season championship for the 2020-21 season and was also selected as the 2020-21 GCAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.

She came to Edward Waters after spending seven seasons as an assistant coach for women’s basketball at Bethune-Cookman.

While at B-CU, she was instrumental in the rebuilding of the Wildcats basketball program which saw vast improvements during each of her seasons in Daytona Beach. In her role as the first assistant under Vanessa Blair-Lewis (now head coach at George Mason), Wilson assisted in the recruiting of student-athletes.

Prior to her tenure at B-CU, Wilson spent five seasons at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. She was an assistant coach with the Yellow Jackets from 1999-2001, and in 2001 she was eventually elevated to the position of head coach. During the 2001-02 season, Wilson made history in becoming the first Allen basketball coach on either the men’s or women’s side to win a tournament game in the Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament.

A native of Hemingway, South Carolina, Wilson is a 1998 graduate of South Carolina State University, having earned a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. Also, while at SCSU, Wilson was a three-year letterwinner for the Bulldogs in women’s basketball, earning such awards as Best Hustle & Most Improved. She was also the Bulldogs team captain for all three of her years. In 2016, Wilson earned her master’s degree in Coaching & Athletic Administration from Concordia University.
