Doc Gamble brings more than two decades of coaching experience at both the collegiate and high school levels, including leadership roles across the FBS, FCS, and HBCU ranks.

Most recently, Gamble served as special teams coordinator at Florida A&M beginning in 2023, where he helped guide the Rattlers to an HBCU National Championship. Under his direction, several special teams standouts earned all-conference recognition, including kicker Cameron Gillis and return specialists Marcus Riley and Jah’Marae Sheread.

Prior to his time at Florida A&M, Gamble was on the coaching staff at Marshall and previously served as head coach at University of Arkansas–Pine Bluff. During his tenure with the Golden Lions, he led the program to the 2021 SWAC Championship Game after winning the SWAC West Division. Gamble also coached multiple All-SWAC performers during his time at UAPB, including linebacker Monroe Beard III, offensive lineman Mark Evans II, and punter Josh Sanchez.

Before his time at Arkansas–Pine Bluff, Gamble spent five seasons as wide receivers coach at Kent State, where he helped develop several productive receivers and contributed to the development of All-MAC playmaker Dri Archer.

Gamble has also held collegiate coaching roles at Alcorn State as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator and at Cincinnati as an offensive assistant, helping the Bearcats capture a share of the Big East title in 2011.

Most recently at Trine University, Gamble coached First Team All-Conference running back Cortaveon Barnett and First Team All-Conference kick returner Rayshawn Street.

Earlier in his career, Gamble spent several years coaching high school football in Cincinnati, Ohio, including head coaching stints at Withrow High School and Fairfield High School. During that time, he compiled a 53–19 record and helped more than 120 student-athletes continue their football careers at the collegiate level. In 2004, he received the Paul Brown Excellence in Coaching Award.

A former quarterback, Gamble played at North Dakota State College of Science and later at University of Tennessee at Martin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and health with a concentration in sports management in 1995.
