Jamarra Robinson enters her first season at Bethune-Cookman as the Associate Head Coach for the Wildcats women’s basketball program, bringing a proven track record of program building, player development and championship success across multiple levels of collegiate basketball.
Robinson arrives in Daytona Beach following a stint as head coach at Stillman College, where she led the Tigers to a 12-12 record and an appearance in the HBCUAC Championship Tournament Semifinals. She was selected to lead the program after a highly successful run at Indian River State College (IRSC) and a season at the NCAA Division I level with Lafayette College.
At Lafayette, Robinson served as an assistant coach in the Patriot League, helping the Leopards improve their conference win total while contributing to player development, including mentoring a 1,000-point scorer and an All-Rookie Team selection. Her experience at the Division I level added to an already diverse coaching résumé spanning junior college and high school success.
Robinson made her biggest impact at Indian River State College, where she compiled a 101-71 overall record across six seasons as head coach. During her tenure, she transformed the Pioneers into a consistent contender, highlighted by a Southern Conference Championship in 2023 and three runner-up finishes. Her teams advanced to three consecutive NJCAA Region 8 Final Four appearances, including a state runner-up finish in 2022.
The 2023-24 season marked a historic campaign for IRSC, as Robinson guided the program to a school-record 26 wins and an undefeated 10-0 home record. Under her leadership, the program achieved its highest national ranking (No. 15), produced more than 20 All-FCSAA selections, and helped seven student-athletes advance to NCAA Division I programs.
Prior to her collegiate head coaching career, Robinson found success at the high school level, leading her alma mater, Centennial High School, to back-to-back district final appearances and a district championship in 2018. She earned FHSAA District Coach of the Year and TC Palm Coach of the Year honors following the title run.
Robinson began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Saint Petersburg College after earlier experience at Indian River State College in a similar role. Across those stops, she helped coach multiple all-conference players while establishing strong recruiting ties throughout Florida and the NJCAA Region 8 landscape.
A standout student-athlete, Robinson was a two-time FCSAA First Team All-Conference selection at Palm Beach State College before completing her playing career at Saint Leo University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She later obtained her master’s degree in athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine.
A native of Fort Pierce, Florida, Robinson is widely respected for her ability to develop talent, build competitive programs, and foster a winning culture both on and off the court.
