Ron Robinson

Ron Robinson joins the Bethune-Cookman women’s basketball staff prior to the 2026-27 as an assistant coach, bringing more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience and a strong reputation for building high-energy, defense-first programs.

Robinson arrives in Daytona Beach following a stint at Catawba College, where he was added to the coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season after continued success at the NJCAA level.

Prior to Catawba, Robinson spent two seasons at Pensacola State College, helping guide the program to a resurgence on the national stage. Serving as the team’s defensive coordinator and primary signal caller, he played a key role in leading the Pirates to their first 20-win season and Florida State College Activities Association (FCSAA) Tournament appearance in over a decade. During the 2023-24 campaign, Pensacola State climbed as high as No. 7 in the NJCAA national rankings and remained in the Top 25 throughout the season. His defensive units consistently ranked among the nation’s best, including a No. 4 national ranking in forced turnovers per game (25.8) and No. 10 in steals per game (14.0), while leading Region 8 and the Panhandle Conference in both categories.

Robinson previously served nine successful seasons as head coach at Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC), where he compiled 174 career victories and established one of the premier programs in the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC). Under his leadership, CVCC captured seven ACCC South Division titles and made four NJCAA Region 22 Championship appearances. He coached 25 All-Conference and 16 All-Region selections, while earning ACCC South Division Coach of the Year honors five times. His final season saw the Pirates claim the ACCC South Division title with a 21-8 overall record.

Robinson began his coaching career as an assistant at CVCC before transitioning into the head coaching role, and also gained early experience as a volunteer coach in the Columbus Parks and Recreation League.

As a student-athlete, Robinson enjoyed a decorated playing career, earning NJCAA All-America honors at Faulkner State Community College before finishing at Columbus State University. At Columbus State, he was a two-time All-Peach Belt Conference and All-Region selection under Hall of Fame head coach Herbert Greene.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Robinson starred at C.F. Vigor High School, leading his team to a 33-4 record and a Final Four appearance. He earned AHSAA All-State honors and was named the Mobile Optimist 6A Player of the Year.

Robinson holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbus State University.
