Danielle Goodrum posted a match-high 17 kills for Bethune-Cookman, but Norfolk State's defense helped the host Spartans post a 3-1 [25-30, 30-23, 30-28, 31-29] Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory Friday night.
Six Spartans registered double-figure kills as Norfolk State (6-24 overall, 3-5 MEAC) held B-CU (7-13,3-4) to an .060 hitting percentage.
Goodrum, a 5-8 junior from Roswell, Ga., registered a double-double with 14 digs in addition to her efforts on offense. Jessica Belton led the Wildcats with 25 digs, while setter Julie Gibson had 25 assists.
Shardonay Blueford led three Spartans in double figures with 16.
The Wildcats face off against Savannah State tomorrow in Savannah, Ga.
