DURHAM, N.C. - B-CU's volleyball upped its season record to 8-11 overall with a 3-2 victory Saturday night at North Carolina Central University. The Lady Wildcats won 25-16, 25-20, 21-25, 20-25, 15-13 to cap off the double win weekend in North Carolina. Bethune-Cookman beat Winston-Salem State Friday night 3-1.
Saturday night's team leaders were setter Julie Gibson with 45 assists and 11 kills to pace the offense. Danielle Goodrum totaled 12 kills and Chelle Ticeson had 11 kills for B-CU. Five Lady Wildcats had 10 digs or better defensively led by Goodrum's 14 digs.
Next up for B-CU, the 'Cats host defending MEAC champion FAMU Monday night, 6 p.m. start with the MEAC match being held at Embry-Riddle University as Moore Gymnasium construction continues on B-CU's campus.
