B-CU VOLLEYBALL LOSES 3-1 FRIDAY NIGHT AT SCSU: AT FAMU NEXT TUESDAY
South Carolina State jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with 25-15 and 25-19 set wins Friday night, holding off a B-CU comeback for a 3-1 set MEAC home victory. B-CU won the third set 25-22, and SCSU closed out the match with the same 25-22 margin in set number four.
SCSU (12-19, 5-2 MEAC) was led by hitters Shabree Roberson with 11 kills and Jarne Gleaton contributed 10 winners. Setter Bria Brimmer had 36 assists and 9 digs in the conference win.
B-CU, now 8-15 overall and 3-4 in MEAC matches, was led by hitting percentage leader Chelle Ticeson with 10 kills. Danielle Goodrum had nine kills and setter Julie Gibson totaled 26 assists and 4 kills.
SENIOR NIGHT MATCH - Nov. 7 - 8 PM AT SPRUCE CREEK HIGH SCHOOL
The Lady Wildcats will be at MEAC defending champion Florida A & M University, Tuesday 7 p.m. before coming home to host Winston-Salem State in the Senior Night final home match of the 2008 season. The match will be played at Spruce Creek High School - 8 p.m. start.
