C. J. Reed LEADS B-CU TO TWO WINS LAST WEEK
It has been a good week for Wildcat basketball starting with freshman point guard C.J. Reed being named to the All-Tournment Team of the Chicago Invitational Challenge to open the week.....B-CU then edged Webber University Tuesday in the 2008-2009 home opener on the new floor at Moore Gymnasium. The success continued Saturday with the 'Cats winning at FAMU in Tallahassee, 63-46, for their third straight win this season (4-4 overall, 1-0 MEAC).
Reed was named the MEAC "Rookie Of The Week" on Monday for his strong play in the two wins. He scored 14 points and had 4 assists Tuesday night vs. Webber International University and totaled a game-high 16 points and 3 assists Saturday vs. Florida A & M University. Reed leads the team in scoring with a 15.4 acoring average and he is the team assist leader (3.5 game) and leads with 11 three-pointers and 30 free throws made through eight games.
