VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - MEAC officials announced Monday this week's outstanding performers. Bethune-Cookman guard Demetria Frank was among those recognized. The 5'9" sophomore from Miami averged 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 steals aiding the Lady Wildcats to a 2-0 mark last week. Against Winston-Salem State, Frank pulled down seven boards and grabbed four steals. She tied a MEAC season-high nine steals along with five rebounds and one blocked shot in a win over Norfolk State.  Offensively, she added 31 points and nine assists in the two games.

This is the third Defensive Player of the Week award for B-CU in 2008-09, and the second for Frank, who is among the top players in the conference in many defensive categories. Frank and the Lady Wildcats face off with North Carolina A&T tonight in Greensboro, N.C.
