BALTIMORE - If there were a contest, it'd be tied.

But there is no contest between Arkee Smith for who has the most interceptions in the B-CU secondary. Really.

"There is no rivalry or battle," said Williams, who had three picks in B-CU's 69-32 rout of Morgan State. "We just work hard. We support each other, we push other."

Now both Williams and Smith have four interceptions this season. Williams now leads the nation with an average of 1.33 interceptions per game since he missed the Savannah State contest. Smith is tied for second with an average of 1.0 per game..

"The thing is if something happens, he comes over to congratulate me and I do the same," Willams said.

Williams' first pick helped B-CU establish a 35-3 lead. The 44-yard return down to the MSU 2 set up Andronicus Lovette's first touchdown run.

"I read the quarterback's eyes and he took me right to the play," Williams said. "I thought I was in, but they said I stepped out."

Williams peeled off man coverage to help Smith - of course - and that led to his second interception. The third was a simple free ball.

Still Williams was disappointed that Morgan State got back into the game for a bit. "We had them pinned," Williams said. "You always want to keep a dog down .. never let him get him up. "

But Williams found strength in the play of his defensive teammates, especially Ryan Lewis. "Ryan's play when he scored the touchdown was amazing, Williams said. "I saw him cut the corner and the next thing he was scoring. The d-line did an awesome job."
