HOWEY IN THE HILLS, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman vaulted from 11th place to sixth at the Mission Inn Falls Invitational with an impressive second round Saturday at Los Colians CC.
Paced by a one-under par 71 from Jamichael Jones and a par 72 from Willie Mack, the Wildcats turned in a team score of 291 - third-best of the 12-team field - to move up in the team standings. B-CU's team score of 610 trails that of leader Johnson and Wales by 23.
Jones (79-71 150) moved up to 13th in the individual standings while Mack, who hit five birdies Saturday, is in 15th (79-72 151). Chris Hawley of Johnson and Wales fired a 67 Saturday to move into a tie with Stetson's Sam Ryder for the lead at 139.
Emanuel Petrich (81-74 155) is tied for 33rd. The tournament concludes Sunday.
