DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – It's not that the Lady Cats are rude or anything, but the goal tonight is to spoil the homecoming of sorts for a College of Charleston player when the teams meet in Moore Gymnasium. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
The Cougars (1-2) feature former Port Orange Atlantic star Tonia Gerty, who was a key force behind a string of Sharks post-season runs. Gerty , a preseason All Southern Conference selection, leads the Cougars with a 13.7 scoring average.
Bethune-Cookman is returning to action following last week's season opening 70-53 victory over Florida Memorial. Demetria Frank is continuing her streak of 19 point games, registering that total in the season opener after posting it in two preseason appearances. Freshman Amanda Hairston double-doubled (16 points, 11 rebounds) on 6-8 shooting in her B-CU debut.
This is the second game of a four-game homestand for the Lady Cats, who host Georgia State and Jacksonville State next week.
