ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The LadyCats of Bethune-Cookman volleyball fell to South Carolina State, Friday, on the road against the Lady Bulldogs. SCSU swept B-CU in sets of 25-20, 25-16, and 25-23.

Jessica Wilson continued her steak of leading the team in kills, topping the LadyCats offensively with eight digs, collecting six kills, while Kat Agson tallied up five assisted blocks and five kills. Jacqueline Woodyear topped a spread defensive effort with seven digs.

The LadyCats had challenges putting down points offensively against the Lady Bulldogs, collecting just 26 team kills on .072 hitting.

In the first two sets, the Lady Bulldogs maintained the lead most of the sets, including a wire to wire lead in the second. However, in the third, the LadyCats pushed hard to rally in a set that featured a season-high 18 ties and nine lead changes. The teams traded scores in the third up until the final points hit the board; the final tie came at 23-all, but SCSU broke the deadlock with a kill and a B-CU attack error to finish the set with two straight scores to get the 25-23 win and the 3-0 sweep.

The LadyCats (7-23, 2-5 MEAC) head back to the Sunshine State, taking on cross-state and divisional rival FAMU in Sunday's ESPNU live broadcast at 1:00 p.m.
