FT. MYERS, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman's Matthew McKnight shot a 6-under par 66 in his second round Sunday to move into the individual lead at the Cobra-Puma Invitational hosted by Xavier University at Miromar Lake GC.
McKnight, whose two-round total is an 8-under 136, holds a one-shot lead over Jay Mulieri of Loyola (Md.) entering Monday's final round.
Emanuel Petrich (73-77-150) is tied for 33rd while Joseph Molina (77-79-156) is tied for 55th.
Bethune-Cookman is seventh in the team standings with a 588, 24 shots behind leader Florida Gulf Coast.
Behind the 70s from McKnight and Jones, the Wildcats were tied for fourth after the first round but faded slightly in the second.
