NORFOLK, Va. – The Wildcats snagged their sixth weekly MEAC honor of the season, coming off a 3-0 sweep of Norfolk State to remain perfect, officials from the conference office announce Monday with the naming of Patrick Goelz as MEAC Pitcher of the Week.
Earning his first accolades of the season, Goelz pitched five innings to open the final game of the series, earning his fourth win as Bethune-Cookman defeated NSU 12-6. Goelz tallied a 1.80 ERA on the mound, striking out three batters, allowing a single run and four hits.
The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Jacksonville to face off with North Florida, then take on Miami on Wednesday, before returning home for the first time in 13 games to take on Coppin State, Friday on ESPNU.
