DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Adrien Coleman scored 33 points as Bethune-Cookman downed Ave Maria 85-68 in an exhibition game Tuesday in historic Moore Gymnasium.

The junior from Atlanta was 15 of 17 from the field and also had six rebounds, five assists and five steals while dealing with early foul trouble than having a tooth knocked out in the second half.

"Playing with four fouls is harder than playing with your tooth knocked out," Coleman said. "We can take from this that my team believes in my abilities and we can all work together."

Paul Scotland added 17 points and six assists while Kevin Dukes 11 as B-CU pulled away from a 57-51 game midway through the second half. Alex Smith led the Wildcats with seven rebounds. All 11 Wildcats scored.

Kiel Lewis led Ave Maria with22 points.

B-CU opens the season Friday at St. Bonaventure.
