THIRD TIME THE TIME CHARM?: After dropping two regular season matchups by a combined seven points, B-CU meets N.C. Central in the quarterfinals of the MEAC tournament Thursday at 8 p.m.
First Meeting Recap / Second Meeting Recap
COACH CRAIG ON NCCU: "We've played two close, two-possession games. It's nothing that we're not doing. They have a couple of sets we need to make some adjustments to, but it comes down to keeping them off the offensive boards and the free throw line and controlling the tempo. Those are the three biggest things."
BREEZE UPDATE: Senior Anthony Breeze, who missed Tuesday's victory over South Carolina State with a shoulder injury, is listed as day-to-day (Then again, aren't we ALL day-to-day?). Javoris Bryant replaced Breeze in the starting line-up
CRAIG ON BREEZE AND BRYANT: "We're preparing to play as if he won't play. If he does, that's a bonus. JB's experienced. You lose some toughness as far as inside and scoring goes, but JB does a good job from 10-12 feet out."
QUICK STATS: Breeze didn't play in the first BCU-NCCU meeting ... The Cats are looking for their second straight appearance in the tournament semifinals ... Kevin Dukes has 4 straight games in double figures and Stanley Elliott 3 of the past 5 ... Ricky Johnson's 8-8 FT effort against SC State was his third perfect effort of 6 or more in the final 4 minutes ...B-CU is 8-3 when scoring 70 or more and 12-2 when giving up 64 or less.
NEXT UP: The winner of Savannah State/Hampton.
