SAVANNAH, Ga. - Bethune-Cookman's Matthew McKnight had the first round lead, but finished Monday in third place at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Showcase.
McKnight shot a 72 in his first round, but his 74 in the second along with a two-under par from Savannah State's Ryan Lassiter and a 72 by Ceda Ilic, also of Savannah State, put the two Tigers atop the leaderboard with 36 hole totals of 143 and 145, respectively.
McKnight is in third at 146, followed by Jamichael Jones at 148.
Shorthanded due to injury, B-CU is in second place in the team competition, 17 shots behind leader Savannah State's 592. Florida A&M (617) is third.
Emmanuel Petrich (79-76 155) is tied for tenth while Rafael Abad (81-79 160) is tied for 15th.
