JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Delicia Pierre had nine kills, seven digs and four service aces in Bethune-Cookman's 3-0 (25-19,25-23,25-14) loss to Jacksonville Wednesday evening.
The Lady Cats (4-17) had a two-match winning streak snapped by the Dolphins, who got 13 kills from Kylie Jacob and a 42-assist, 10-dig double-double from Kendall Courtney.
Destiny Hudson and Phylecia Armstrong each added six kills for Bethune-Cookman.
B-CU turned a 10-6 deficit into a 15-13 first set lead, with the last points coming on a Pierre ace and a Hudson kill. The Dolphins regained the lead with a 6-1 run.
Pierre had three consecutive service aces on a four-point B-CU that gave it a 17-15 lead in the second set. Jacksonville took a 23-21 that B-CU worked back to a 23-23 tie before the Dolphins scored the final two points of the set.
B-CU hosts archrival Florida A&M Friday in a key Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match at 7 p.m. in Historic Moore Gymnasium.
