Penguins Pounce On @BCUHoops 71-59

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mikel Trapp scored 18 points and Malik Jackson 16 in Bethune-Cookman's 71-59 loss to Youngstown State Tuesday night.

The Wildcats (2-12) lost their 10th straight.

Jackson had 12 points in the first half, including the game's first four points. Trapp had 16 in the second half, including four three-pointer. Trapp also matched his career high of seven rebounds.

Perry, who entered the game with a four-game streak of games in which he scored at least 27 points. gave Youngstown State the lead for good with a 3-pointer five minutes into the contest and the Penguins gradually pulled away, building a 31-22 lead at halftime. 

Ryan Weber tossed in 16 points and Bobby Hain added 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Penguins.

Travis Elliott shared the team-rebound high with Trapp  with seven.

The Wildcats play at North Florida Saturday.

NOTES: Trapp has led the team in scoring three times and rebounding twice this season ... The Cats' last 2-12 start was 2002 ...
