DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Bethune-Cookman Men's Tennis Team recovered from a pair of 4-3 losses to gain a 2-2 split of their home opening weekend.
The Wildcats (2-4) started Friday and Saturday with one-point losses to Florida Southern and The Citadel before rallying to wins over Palm Beach Atlantic and Coastal Georgia.
Diego Garavito and Santiago Lobelo each compiled 3-1 records in singles and doubles play while Moritz Pronath and Gilbert Kibet each won all three of their singles matches.
"Diego played the best I have seen him play in two years Saturday," said B-CU Head Coach Tim Pleasant. "He wasplaying at the level we expected of Diego when we recruited him to B-CU. I'm very pleased with Gilbert's performance as well."
B-CU returns to action Feb. 16 against Webber International and Hampton.
