DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –  The Bethune-Cookman University volleyball team was selected to finish fourth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division preseason poll, it was announced Thursday, August 15, 2013.

The Wildcats received 191 points in the poll of coaches and volleyball athletic communicators. Florida A&M (19 first place votes, 282 points), North Carolina Central (three first place votes, 225) and South Carolina State (four first place votes, 211 points were the top three.

B-CU finished fourth in the division last year with a 5-5 conference mark.

Hampton was chosen to win the MEAC Northern Division, and South Carolina State's Desire Waller was named Preseason Player of the Year.

The Wildcats open the 2013 season on Friday, August 30 against Jacksonville at the Florida Atlantic Invitational in Boca Raton.
