TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman fell 3-0 (25-14,25-20,25-18) to Florida A&M in a battle for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division lead Friday night.
Rhea Simon and Rakaya Neely each had six kills for the Lady Cats (6-15 overall, 4-1 MEAC)
while Rechez Lindsay added 10 digs and Hazel Ortiz-Rosado 21 assists and two service aces.
Pamela Soriano led the Rattlers (7-10,5-0) with 14 kills.
The Lady Cats had a 13-7 lead in the third set before Florida A&M came back to tievit at 16-16. A Jill Arlaud kill briefly gave Bethune-Cookman the lead again beforethe Rattlers closed the match with a 9-2 run.
Bethune-Cookman also had a 17-16 second set lead, but a four-point Rattler service runvgave the home team the momentum.
The Lady Cats host North Florida Tuesday at 7 p.m.
