Box Score LAS VEGAS – Jordan Potts was named to the Continental Tires Las Vegas Invitational after B-CU fell 71-46 to Sam Houston State Friday.
Potts averaged 15.5 points in the four tournament games, including 20 at Richmond and 23 against Stetson. He also had eight assists and nine steals.
Aurimas  Majauskas scored 20 points as the Bearkats (2-3) pulled away from a 45-43 game midway through the second half as the Wildcats (2-4) could manage just three free throws in the final 13:47.
Bethune-Cookman had cut an eight point lead down to two on a Jordan Potts three-pointer before the shooting drought began.
Potts lead the Wildcats with 13 points, 11of those coming  in the opening seven minutes of the second half.
Marquel Ingram gave B-CU its only lead on a jumper with 15:05 left in the first half that made it 9-7. The Bearkats scored the next seven points and led by as many as seven before a 12-6 Wildcat run cut it to 25-24 on two Mario Moody free throws with 4:25 left.
Ingram finished with nine points, LaRon Smith had seven points, six blocks and five rebounds.
The Wildcats return home to face Trinity Baptist Thursday night at Moore Gymnasium.
