DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman women's basketball opens Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action as the Wildcats host South Carolina State (3-3, 1-0 MEAC) Monday, Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m., inside Moore Gym.
After a week off from action, the Wildcats enter the contest 3-4 overall while the Bulldogs are fresh off a 68-62 victory over the Florida A&M Rattlers on Saturday (Dec. 5) in Tallahassee.
A week ago, junior Kailyn Williams was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week after B-CU went 2-1 on the week with wins over Edward Waters (67-48) and North Florida (53-49), Williams averaged a double-double with 10.7 rebounds and 12.2 points, while adding 2.3 blocks and 1.7 steals per contest.
During a loss against Western Illinois, the 6-4 center pulled down 12 boards and blocked four shots while adding 11 points.
Currently leading the Wildcat offense is junior Kendra Cooper with 14.2 points per game, while Williams trails with 10.7ppg and Taylor Houston with 9.0.
Williams pulls down a team-best 9.3 rebounds per contest, while totaling 11 blocks this season.
