@BCUDiamondCats Welcome N.C. Central for MEAC Series

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman gets back to the diamond this weekend, set to host conference foe North Carolina Central to Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark for a three-game set beginning Saturday, March 7. Saturday's action is scheduled for a doubleheader, slated to start at 1 p.m.

The three-game stand for Bethune-Cookman is part of a current 15-game home stand for the Wildcats, before embarking on the road for six of the next eight games away from Daytona Beach.

Bethune-Cookman-North Carolina Central Series History
• With North Carolina Central joining the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in 2011-12, the two teams have squared off 18 times.
• Bethune-Cookman leads the all-time series, 12-6.
• North Carolina Central took last year's series in Daytona Beach by claiming two-of-three games, before B-CU bounced back to claim two-of-three a month later in Durham, North Carolina.
• Bethune-Cookman defeated NCCU once in postseason play, taking down the Eagles during the 2013 MEAC Tournament in Norfolk, Virginia.
• The only time the Wildcats have swept the Eagles in a series was in the initial meeting back in 2012.

Noting the Wildcats
• Bethune-Cookman is off to its worst start since 1999, when the Cats started the year 0-15. That same year, B-CU bounced back to finish the season 27-31, winning the MEAC regular season and tournament title, and advancing to the NCAA Coral Gables [Fla.] Regional hosted by the University of Miami.
• Third baseman Mijon Cummings was named as this week's MEAC Rookie of the Week.
• Redshirt senior right-hander Keith Zuniga is the MEAC's Preseason Pitcher of the Year.
• The Wildcats have not lost back-to-back conference series' since 2005 – the same year they failed to win the MEAC Tournament.
• Catcher Zach Olszewski leads the team batting .429, scoring four runs and batting out three doubles with three RBI on the campaign.
