WASHINGTON, D.C. – After being displaced and stuck on the road for over a week, Bethune-Cookman volleyball returns to the hardwood, making the trip from North Carolina to the Nation's Capital to face reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Champion, Howard, Friday, Oct. 14 followed by a match at Morgan State in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday, Oct. 16.
The Wildcats and HU met last season during the 2015 MEAC Championship Game in Princess Anne, Maryland, where the Bison earned the 3-0 victory.
Howard is also the alma mater of Wildcat head coach
Brittany Williams.
BCU
The 4-16 Wildcats most recently blanked NCCU on Oct. 9 in Durham, North Carolina, picked up two victories during MEAC opening weekend (Sept. 23-25), sweeping Savannah State and South Carolina State at home and beat Tulane (Sept. 3) in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Rookie
Alana Handy currently leads the Wildcat offense with 2.71 per set, while posting three kill/dig double-doubles this season.
Phylecia Armstrong set a program record with a .750 hitting percentage against Tulane, recording 15 kills with zero errors on 20 attempts giving her the second-best percentage in the nation. Armstrong ranks second on the team with 1.99 kills per set and leads the team with 73 total blocks.
On the defensive end, Normaire Rolon Soto has collected a team-best 216 digs (3.27 dps), while
Phalen Clark and
J'nai Higgins have split the setting responsibility with 306 (5.88 aps) and 284 (4.58 aps) assists respectively.
HU
The 15-5 Bison currently lead the northern division with a perfect 5-0 MEAC record. The 2015 MEAC Champions are paced by Khaila Donaldson's 4.00 kills per set.
Defensively, Morgan Marlbrough picks up 4.10 digs per set as Whitney Fields as a total of 55 blocks on the season.
MSU
The 3-16 Bears are led by Natashia Barker's 2.56 kills per set, trailed by Haley McClure's 2.04 kps.
On the defensive end, Jasmin Hubbard collects 3.20 digs per set but Michaela Collins has earned 30 total blocks.

- Normarie Rolon Soto moved into first place in BCU history on Tuesday, Oct. 4 when her 16 digs passed Jennifer Jimenez' Bethune-Cookman record of 1,186.
