Norfolk, Virginia – Bethune-Cookman volleyball freshmen Alana Handy earned her season-first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week honors the league announced Monday, Oct. 17.
 
During a weekend split, the Burlington, Wash., native totaled 30 kills, 23 digs, two blocks and one assist against Howard and Morgan State on the road.
 
Collecting her fourth and fifth kill/dig double doubles of the season, Handy averaged a double-double of 15.0 kills and 11.5 digs in both matches.
