NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune-Cookman women's basketball senior,
Kailyn Williams collected her season-first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Weekly Honors, earning MEAC Defensive Player of the Week the league announced Monday, Nov. 28.
Williams (New Orleans, La.), totaled 18 rebounds and 11 blocks against Southern and Southeastern Louisiana. She notched her first double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds against Southern. Offensively, she averaged 17.5 points in the two games.
Her six blocked shots at Southern ranks sixth in the nation in most in a game this season while her 4.6 blocked shots per game currently ranks third in the NCAA.
Bethune-Cookman returns to the hardwood on Thursday, Dec. 1 as the Wildcats host Flagler at 6 p.m. in the ICI Center in Daytona Beach.
