DAYTONA BEACH, Florida – Bethune-Cookman volleyball opens Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, as the Wildcats welcome Savannah State (Sept. 23) and South Carolina State (Sept. 25) to Warner Christian Academy Gymnasium, in South Daytona, Florida during their home opener.
 
BCU
The 1-12 Wildcats lone victory this season came at Tulane during the Allstate Sugar Bowl Tournament (Sept. 2-3). BCU took down the host Green Waves 3-2 (25-22, 17-25, 30-32, 25-18, 15-10), Sept. 3.
 
Rookie Alana Handy leads the team with 2.44 kills per set, while posting three kill/dig double-doubles this season. Phylecia Armstrong set a program record with a .750 hitting percentage against Tulane, recording 15 kills with zero errors on 20 attempts giving her the second-best percentage in the nation. Armstrong ranks second on the team with 2.02 kills per set and blocks (40).
 
On the defensive end, Normaire Rolon Soto has collected a team-best 137 digs (3.19 dps), while J'nai Higgins and Phalen Clark have split the setting responsibility with 198 (5.08 aps) and 174 (5.27 aps) assists respectively.

The 0-16 Tigers are currently led by Dominique Ingram's 1.90 kps while Caitlynn Maso trails with 1.77 kps.
 
On the defensive end, Alexis Washington collects 3.50 digs per set, while Gabrielle Nathaniel has earned 16 total blocks.

The 0-14 Bulldogs are currently led by Brianna Dafney's 2.57 kps.
 
On the defensive end, Alexis Moses collects 2.61 digs per set, while Dafney has earned 23 total blocks.
