Box Score TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Bethune-Cookman volleyball fell to 2-1 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play, dropping its first MEAC regular-season match since the 2014 season, after falling 3-0 (25-23, 28-26, 25-22) to Florida A&M, Friday, Sept. 30 in Tallahassee, Florida.
Rookie
Alana Handy led the Wildcat's offense effort finishing with a team-best 10 kills, while
Phylecia Armstrong trailed with 8 kills on 11 attempts and no errors (.727).
Defensively, Armstrong added a season-best eight blocks, two more than the Rattlers as a team, and fellow senior Normaire Rolon Soto collected 14 digs.
Phalen Clark paced the BCU offense finishing with 27 assists.
Maria Yvette Garcia finished with 20 kills for the Rattlers, while Valentina Carrasco finished with 18 digs and Valeria Lopez dished 33 assists.
The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 4, for a non-conference road match against Jacksonville at 7 p.m.
