DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Reggie Baker scored a career-high 27 points in Bethune-Cookman's 82-79 loss to Maryland Eastern Shore Saturday in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.
The visiting Hawks erased a 14-point second half deficit and kept the Wildcats scoreless the final 2:40. Logan McIntosh made a lay-up that gave the Hawks an 80-79 lead with 59 seconds left, than Thomas Rivera added two free throws with 17 seconds remaining.
Diamante Lewis had 14 points and nine assists,
Quinton Forrest 12 points and 11 rebounds, and
Brandon Tabb 11 for the Wildcats (4-15,1-5) in their first game in their on-campus Moore Gymnasium, which suffered water damage during Hurricane Matthew.
The court was named in honor of former football and basketball coach Jack "Cy" McClairen prior to the game.
Bakari Copeland led Maryland Eastern Shore with 24. Â
