NORFOLK, Va. – Brandon Tabb scored 20 points in Bethune-Cookman's 73-66 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference loss to Norfolk State Saturday evening.
The junior from nearby Hampton tied the game at 61 on two free throws with 4:09 remaining, but the Spartans (8-13 overall, 5-2 MEAC) scored the next nine points to pull away.
Bethune-Cookman (4-16,1-6) got to 70-66 on two
Reggie Baker free throws with 42 seconds remaining but could come no closer.
Diamante Lewis had a 13-point, 13-asssist double-double for the Wildcats, while
Quinton Forrest added 11.
NSU's Jonathan Wade, who came into the game tied with Tabb for the conference scoring lead, scored 21 of his 31 points in the second half.
The Wildcats led 29-27 at halftime.
Bethune-Cookman hosts Stetson Wednesday night.
