DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Brandon Tabb scored 24 points in Bethune-Cookman's 76-67 loss to Volusia County rival Stetson Wednesday on Coach Cy Court in Historic Moore Gym.
Stetson's Divine Myles scored 29 points as the Hatters (10-15) closed the game with a 13-1 run over the final 5:18.
Tabb was 5-6 from three-point range in the first half as the Wildcats (4-17) Â erased deficits of 6-0 and 14-5 to take a 20-19 lead on
Brandon Suggs' lay-up with 9:43 remaining. Ahead 33-30, the Wildcats scored nine unanswered points for a 42-30 lead on a
Houston Smith tip-in, but Stetson closed to 42-36 at half.
Bethune-Cookman scored the first seven points of the second half for its largest lead at 49-36 on a
Diamante Lewis jumper with 19 minutes remaining. Stetson chipped away at the lead, finally going ahead 67-66 with 4:28 left on two Derick Newton free throws.
Jeffrey Altidort added 10 points for the Wildcats. Lewis had seven points, eight assists and nine rebounds.
