DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman's
Jordan Jefferson was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Volleyball Co-Rookie Of The Week, it was announced today (October 23, 2017).
The freshman from San Antonio had 15 kills and 12 digs against Howard to record her 11th double-double of the season, and she followed that with a 14-kill, nine-dig, two-block effort against Maryland Eastern Shore as Bethune-Cookman squared off against the top two teams in the MEAC Northern Division.
She shared the honor with North Carolina Central's Christine Alcox. This is Jefferson's third weekly honor.
For the season, Jefferson is fifth in the MEAC in kills (3.21 per set) and seventh in scoring (3.57 points per set).
Bethune-Cookman (8-11 overall, 5-0 MEAC Southern Division) returns home from a three-match road swing to host Savannah State Friday and South Carolina State Sunday.
