SMYRNA, Del. – Bethune-Cookman's cross country teams are set to compete at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championships Saturday at the Delaware State University Outreach and Research Center. in Smyrna, Del.
The championships will begin with the women's five-kilometer (5K) race at 9:45 a.m., with the men's eight-kilometer (8K) race following at 10:30 a.m.
Last year, the B-CU's women's team placed fourth and the men sixth. at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Smyrna, Delaware. The women's top finisher was
Deja Davis with a time of 18:21.95 on the 5k course to place third.
Xavier Walton led the way for the B-CU men with a time of 25:59.40 on the 8k course to place seventh.
Jonathan Moore finished at a time of 28:07.92 (31st) and
Daniel Kiptoo placed 32nd with a time of 28:09.41. Florida A&M won the women's conference crown, while Maryland Eastern Shore captured the men's title.
Kiptoo and
Tatyana Hodnett have paced their respective Wildcat teams this season to date.
