SMYRNA, Del. – Bethune-Cookman's cross country teams are set to compete at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championships Saturday at the Delaware State University Outreach and Research Center. in Smyrna, Del.
The championships will begin with the women's five-kilometer (5K) race at 9:45 a.m., with the men's eight-kilometer (8K) race following at 10:30 a.m.
 
Last year, the B-CU's women's team placed fourth and the men sixth. at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Smyrna, Delaware. The women's top finisher was Deja Davis with a time of 18:21.95 on the 5k course to place third. Xavier Walton led the way for the B-CU men with a time of 25:59.40 on the 8k course to place seventh.  Jonathan Moore finished at a time of 28:07.92 (31st) and Daniel Kiptoo placed 32nd with a time of 28:09.41. Florida A&M won the women's conference crown, while Maryland Eastern Shore captured the men's title.
Kiptoo and Tatyana Hodnett have paced their respective Wildcat teams this season to date.

Xavier Walton – Two Top 10 finishes, 7^th last year at MEAC
Cameron Berryhill – 38^th at MEAC last year

Deandre Petty – 45^th last year
Kaleb Wolfenden – 1^st MEAC meet
 
WOMEN
 
Tatyana Hodnett – Finished 24^th last year
Bernita Brown – First MEAC meet
Damaris Jepkorir – First MEAC meet
Paije Johnson – 42^nd last year
Brianna Pollock – 34^th last year and 31^st in 2015
Sada Ritchie-Rowley – First MEAC meet.
 
History: The Wildcat men won the championship in 1999 while the women have titles from 1995 and 2000.
