TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Alondra Bautista had 15 kills and 11 digs in Bethune-Cookman's 3-1 (18-25,25-16,25-17,25-13) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference setback to Florida A&M Sunday afternoon.

Maria Yvette Garcia had 14 kills and 20 digs as the Rattlers (10-11, overall, 7-1) moved into a first-place tie with the Wildcats (10-13,7-1).

Bethune-Cookman can still earn the Southern Division's number one seed for the MEAC tournament November 17-19 if it sweeps its regular-season ending road trip next week at North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central. The Wildcats posted a 3-0 decision over Florida A&M last month.

Jordan Jefferson had 10 kils and 12 digs for B-CU, while Jessica Emile added seven kills. Setter Phalen Clark finished with 36 assists and 11 digs.

Bautista and Emile each had four kills in the opening set as the Wildcats pulled away from a 7-7 with three unanswered points and never  trailed again to take the first set. Florida A&M closed to 18-16 before Bautista keyed a 6-1 run.

NOTES:  Rakaya Neely finishes 4-4 against Florida A&M, that's if the teams don't meet in the MEAC tournament. No other Wildcat volleyball player has more than three wins against the Rattlers…This was Bautista's sixth double-double and Jefferson's 12th.
