@BCUWBB Downs PBA 61-48 For 2nd Straight

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Angel Golden scored 18 points as Bethune-Cookman downed Palm Beach Atlantic 61-48 Sunday evening in Historic Moore Gym.

Briana Hardee added 16 points and Ashanti Hunt 10 as the Lady Wildcats (5-2) won their second straight.

The Lady Wildcats scored the first eight points and never trailed. Palm Beach Atlantic (1-8) closed to 8-5, but Bethune-Cookman closed the quarter by holding the Sailfish scoreless the final 4:44 to take a 13-5 lead.

Golden, a junior, was 4-8 from 3-point range and matched her career high with seven rebounds. She ended the first half with a three and started the second half with another one that gave Bethune-Cookman a 32-18 lead. The Lady Wildcats maintained a double-figure lead the rest of the night.

Hardee, who also had six rebounds, reached double-figure scoring for the third straight game.

Tyler Davis led Palm Beach Atlantic  with 12 points while Hannah Grim scored 10.

Bethune-Cookman hosts Southern Wednesday evening.

NOTES: Emily Williams finished with a season-high six assists while Lyndsey Edwards posted four points and six rebounds … B-CU's 14 steals was a season-high … PBA had a 44-41 rebounding advantage … All four Lady Wildcat wins have been by double-figure margin … B-CU has won two in a row on Sunday after dropping its previous  seven Sunday games.
