DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman Volleyball Head Coach Brittany Williams and her staff inked four players to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, April 12, during the National Signing Day for the sport of collegiate women's volleyball. The announcement came jointly from the BCU Volleyball coaching staff and the Office of Athletics Compliance.

The 2017 Bethune-Cookman Volleyball signing class includes Tynesha Adams, Meraiah Hill, Jordan Jefferson and Faith Landreneaux.

Recently completing her second year at the helm in Daytona Beach, Williams is excited about the incoming class of Wildcats for the 2017 campaign.

"I think we landed some really good players for next season," remarked Williams. "Mixed with a great group of returning players from last season, this 2017 season has the potential to be something very special indeed. I know my staff and I are very eager to get out there, practice, and to begin working with each of these young ladies and the returning players to make sure we get back to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title game, after falling just short in 2015."

The class announcement began with the signing of Tynesha Adams from Prattville, Alabama. The Prattville High alum played basketball and volleyball across her four years of high school. During her prep career, Adams was named All-Metro Second Team as a junior in 2015, in addition to being selected Offensive Player of the Year that same season. She led Prattville High to the state finals for the first time in school history during the 2015 campaign. In 2016, she followed in leading the team to the state finals yet again. Following her senior season, she was named All-Metro Second Team for a second consecutive time, as well as Offensive Player of the Year on back-to-back occasions. Additionally, she was co-captain of the varsity girls' basketball team in her senior season.

The second signee was Meraiah Hill of Ocala, Florida. She comes to Bethune-Cookman from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, where she spent her first two years with the junior college nationally-acclaimed program. She was voted second team all-conference at Santa Fe College as a sophomore, while helping the team to nationals for the first time in school history in 2016.

Another signee was Jordan Jefferson of San Antonio, Texas. Jefferson earned a number of awards at Brandeis High School, including being named to the First Team All-District for three years (2014-16). She would go on to collect First Team Academic All-District accolades all four years. Back on the court, the attacking player was named MVP of the Seguin Tournament (2015), while being named to the NEISD All-Tournament Team (2016). Other awards as a senior at Brandeis High School include being honored to the Smithson Valley All-Tournament Team, Academic All-State member, TGCA All-State, TGCA Legacy Team member and All-Area Super Team performer. Capping that, Jefferson holds the school record for kills in a single season.

The final signee for the Wildcats was Faith Landreneaux from Carthage, Texas. The First Team All-State TAUC member from Carthage High School was also a First Team All-East Texas selection as a senior in 2016. She was voted the Blocker of the Year in Class 4-A District 19, while earning Academic All-District Honors off the court. The middle blocker went on to receive honorable mention TSWA All-State accolades, in addition to playing in the TAUC All-Start Game.

"Each of these young ladies brings something special and valuable to a team that we feel is already unique and talented returning from last year," commented Williams. "Not only do we have great high school players in this class, but we have a player like Meraiah [Hill] that is a junior college product and ready to try and step in right away, too.

"This is just a great day for my staff and the volleyball program, as a whole. I know these young ladies are going to mesh well with our returning players, and it's going to be fun coaching this team. I really can't wait to get the 2017 season started."
