@BCUsoftball Drops DH To UCF In Regular Season Finale

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Bethune-Cookman dropped a non-conference doubleheader to UCF in its regular season finale Wednesday at Sunnyland Park, falling 6-1 in the opener and 5-4 in the night cap.

Sasha Killings' two-run homer in the second gave the Wildcats a one-run lead, but the Knights (27-21) tied the game in the fifth and then scored three in the sixth.

Anne Bakenhaus scored on Kailey Richard's fielder's choice, and Ryan Jackson drove home Kaitlin Alamprese as B-CU cut it to 5-4, but could come no closer.

Alamprese had three hits and Iesha Waters two for B-CU in the second game. Sabrina Anguiano (11-10) took the loss.

In the opener, UCF jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead, and then relied on freshman Alea White's complete game five-hitter to register the victory.

The Wildcats scored their lone run in the second when Iesha Waters singled home Kailey Richard. Alamprese had a double, Sanders had a single and Yvonne Siordia had a single and a stolen base..

Mariah Estrada (7-6) took the loss.
