DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – It's Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M. Do we need to type anything else? The Lady Wildcats and Rattlers resume one of the best rivalries in HBCU Sports Saturday with a 2 p.m. tip off in Historic Moore Gym.

The Lady Wildcats (11-4 overall, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) are riding a three-game winning streak that included road victories at Howard (In OT) and Maryland-Eastern Shore last weekend. Florida A&M (3-13, 1-2) was swept on its Baltimore swing at Coppin State and Morgan State and enters Saturday having lost six of its last seven.

Bethune-Cookman won all three meetings last season, including a 59-42 decision in the MEAC tournament semifinals. The Lady Wildcats in the series:

*Have won 4 of the last 5

* Have won 8 of the last 10

* Are 9-11 against FAMU  in the Vanessa Blair-Lewis era

MEAC STANDINGS: Bethune-Cookman and Morgan State are the current co-leaders in the MEAC at 3-0. FAMU and Delaware State are tied for eighth at 1-2.

STATS AND STUFF:  B-CU's 11-4 is its best after 15 games since the 1985-1986 team started 13-2 …The Lady Wildcats lead the MEAC in FG% (40.0), 3FG% (36.2) and are second in scoring (65.2) and third in defense (58.5) …  Angel Golden (13.7) is seventh in scoring and third in 3FG (42.9) … Ashanti Hunt is seventh in rebounding and third in assists (4.0) … Chasimmie Brown (44.9) and Briana Hardee (44.0) are 8^th and 9^th in FG% …  Emily Williams is averaging 14.7 ppg in MEAC play … Hunt and Golden have reached double figures in their last three games … The Lady Wildcats gave up just 15 points in the fourth quarter on the road trip.

FAMU UPDATE: Juniors Florence Ouattara (15.2 ppg), and Shalunda Burney-Robinson(9.7) are leading the way for FAMU so far in scoring … Ouattara ranks second in the MEAC in 3FG% … Shalunda Burney-Robinson is averaging 7.8 rebounds.
