Meraiah Hill has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Volleyball Defensive Specialist Of The Week, it was announced today (October 29, 2018).
The senior from Ocala
averaged 2.14 blocks per set in a pair of wins this past weekend. In Friday's four-set win over North Carolina Central, she had 10 total blocks – falling one shy of the career high and program single-match record she set earlier this season against Jackson State. She followed that up on Sunday with five total blocks in a straight-set win over North Carolina A&T State.
She leads the MEAC in blocks per set with an average of 1.28 She needs five blocks to break the season-single record of 108 set by
Phylecia Armstrong back in 2016.
Bethune-Cookman (13-13) hosts Jacksonville (3-21) in both its non-conference and home finale Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Lady Wildcats are looking to go over .500 in October for the first time since 2004 as they prepare for a crucial league match at Florida A&M Friday.
