DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Skyla Whittaker had six kills in Bethune-Cookman's 3-0 (25-15,25-13,26-24) loss to Florida International Sunday afternoon in Moore Gymnasium.
Faith Landreneaux and
Sterling Williamson posted five kills each for the Lady Wildcats, now 8-10. Setter J'Nai Higgins posted 22 assists and 11 digs, while
Jordan Jefferson and
Shayla Eugene had 14 and 13 digs, respectively.
A Whittaker kill put B-CU at set point --24-23 in the third -- before FIU (12-6) scored the final three points to seal the match.
Margherita Bianchin led the Panthers within 14 kills.
Bethune-Cookman travels to FAU Tuesday, then hosts South Carolina State and Savannah State next Friday and Sunday in two key Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division matches.
