ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Sterling Williamson had 12 kills as Bethune-Cookman downed host South Carolina State 3-0 (25-14,25-17,25-19) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division match Friday night.

The Lady Wildcats (14-15 overall, 6-3 MEAC) hit a season-high .395 to put themselves in position to claim the division's No. 2 seed at next week's conference tournament by defeating Savannah State in Sunday's regular season finale.

Jordan Jefferson and Faith Landreneaux each added seven kills, J'nai Higgins 31 assists and Shayla Eugene 11 digs as BCU never trailed in the first and third sets and erased an early 5-0 deficit in the second.

A 5-0 run turned a 9-6 deficit into an 11-9 lead, and BCU would pull away from an 18-14 game with a Williamson kill and two from Landreneaux as the Lady Wildcats closed the set.
Landreneaux also posed four blocks and a service ace. Micaiah Hill finished with six kills.

Kyra Marshall had 10 kills for South Carolina State, now 1-25 and 1-8.
