DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Cletrell Pope registered 18 points and 19 rebounds in Bethune-Cookman's 79-71 loss to Jacksonville Saturday evening in Moore Gym.

JD Notae scored 20 points as Jacksonville (7-5) turned a 46-42 second half deficit into a 63-52 lead on David Bell's dunk with 6:11 remaining.

BCU (4-8) got it back to 65-51 on a Dondre Duffus free throw with 3:48 remaining, but the Dolphins scored the next seven point to pull away.

Pope was 6-13 from the field and 6-7 from the line. His career-high 19 boards marked his sixth consecutive double-figure rebound game and ninth of the season.

Duffus and Leon Redd each scored 14 for the Wildcats, who dropped their fourth straight.  Malik Maitland added 12.

BCU trailed 38-31 at halftime, but took a 42-40 lead on two Houston Smith free throws with 16:01 remaining and extended the lead to 46-42 on two Maitland free throws at the 14:18 mark.
