TALLAHASSEE – Bethune-Cookman won some tactical battles, but Florida A&M took the strategic positions Saturday with a 5-2 victory in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division match.
Matea Roki won at singles and doubles to extend her MEAC regular season combined winning streak to 18, and
Alejandra Vidal remained unbeaten at singles, but Florida A&M (4-13,3-1) dented the B-CU (7-7,3-1) chances for a No. 1 seed.
The Lady Wildcats conclude the regular season Monday at South Carolina State. Even if B-CU wins that match by the maximum margin of victory, Florida A&M would win a three-way tie breaker.
Both Roki and Vidal were matched up against players undefeated in MEAC singles.
Roki also posted her 38
th career doubles victory, moving into a tie for 10
th on that all-time list.
