DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman sophomores
Jordan Jefferson and
Faith Landreneaux have been named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference Volleyball Team, the league announced today [August 10, 2018].
Both Jefferson, an outside hitter from San Antonio, Tex., and Landrenaux, a middle blocker from Carthage, Tex., were All-Rookie selections last year.
Jordan started the season with nine consecutive double-doubles and led the Lady Wildcats in kills. She finished eighth in the conference in kills.
Landreneaux finished fifth in the MEAC in hitting percentage and sixth in blocks. She also tied the single-match blocks record against Florida Atlantic.
Lucia Babic of Maryland-Eastern Shore was voted Preseason Player Of The Year.
The Lady Wildcats were voted to finish first in the MEAC's Southern Division in a poll of the league's coaches and sports information directors. Bethune-Cookman received 14 of a possible 24 first-place votes and topped Florida A&M (six first-place votes), North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, Savannah State and South Carolina State.
Bethune-Cookman opens its 2018 season on August 24 against Texas Southern at the Sam Houston Invitational.
