@BCUGridiron's Saturday Kickoff Moved To 7 P.M.

BCU (5-1 overall, 3-0 MEAC) faces Norfolk State (2-5,1-2)

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Lynn W. Thompson announced today [October 18, 2019] that the kickoff for Saturday's game against Norfolk State has been moved from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The move is due to the effects of Tropical Storm Nestor working its way through Florida late Friday and early Saturday.

"With the rapidly moving storm and its outer bands coming through our area, we did not want to have the teams and fans stuck at the stadium for hours in a weather delay," Thompson said. "Moving the kickoff time from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. allows us a window of safety for all concerned."

The stadium parking lots will open for tailgating at 11 a.m.

The Wildcats (5-1 overall, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) enter Saturday against the Spartans (2-5,1-2) on a four-game winning streak.

NOTES YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME

1) Jimmie Robinson enters the game averaging 2.31 points every time he has touched the ball in the last two games (30 points on 13 touches).

1-a) Thirteen of his 16 BCU touchdowns (plus a defensive two-point conversion) have gone for 40 yards or longer.

1-b) Robinson has had nine plays (and that defensive two-point conversion) over 50 yards in his BCU career.

1-c) Robinson is currently 7th on BCU's all-time kickoff return yardage list with 1,266 yards (in just 18 games). He needs five yards to pass John Osborne for sixth.

2)  Akevious Williams' receiving touchdown on that "Philly special" last week at North Carolina Central made him the first Wildcat in modern history (1961 on) to rush for, pass for and catch and catch a touchdown in the same game.

2-a) A much easier record to track is that Williams now has 22 career rushing TDs, tying him with Randy "Sweetback" Walker for seventh on the all-time list. His next TD will tie with former NFL All-Pro Eric Weems for sixth.

2-b) Williams' next passing TD will put him on the all-time top-ten list with 22. Only he and Allen Suber would be the only BCU QBs on both the all-time rushing TD and all-time passing TD top 10 lists.

2-c) Williams has three career games where he rushed for and thrown for 100 yards.

3) Marquis Hendrix has registered double-digit tackles in the last two games – 11 against Morgan State and 12 at North Carolina Central.
