@BCUGridiron Game Day: South Carolina State (Homecoming)

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Things you might want to know about Saturday's homecoming game with South Carolina State, especially that you want to get to Daytona Stadium as early as possible.

1)  The Wildcats are looking for their first 7-1 start since 2013. What was the one loss? Florida State with Jameis Winston quarterbacking.

2) The last time BCU was 6-1, South Carolina State won a bizarre 2014 game that saw both teams score in the 50 seconds.

3) Except for 2016's SCSU 28-7 win, neither team has won by than three points in the games since 2014.

4) BCU has put up 400 or more yards of total offense in three of the past four games, including a season-high 467 last week against Norfolk State.

5) South Carolina State leads the all-time series 32-25-1. BCU has won the last two and is 3-1 in the Terry Sims era.

6) BCU is 49-20-1 in homecoming games dating back to 1946. The Wildcats have won the last nine, including Sims' perfect 4-0 mark. South Carolina State has won four of the five times the Bulldogs have met the Wildcats on homecoming, with the lone Wildcat win a 14-3 decision in 2013.

7) Akevious Williams has three career games where he rushed for and thrown for 100 yards and has completed 50 percent or more of his passes in 15 of his last 25 games.

8) Marquis Hendrix has registered double-digit tackles in the last three games while Delvin James has two.

9) Thirteen of Jimmie Robinson's 16 BCU touchdowns (plus a defensive two-point conversion) have gone for 40 yards or longer and he had nine plays (and that defensive two-point conversion) over 50 yards in his BCU career.

10) It's also Senior Day.  Slated to be recognized:  Jerry Beauchamp, Jabari Dunham, Marques Ford, Marquis Hendrix, Roger Huesner, Tupac Isme, Devin James, Donald Johnson IV, De'ron Maxwell, Trevor Merritt, Tydarius Peters, Jimmie Robinson, Magyla Ramirez,  Nick Roos, Rakeem Terry, Vernon Walker, Kyeree Wallace, Akevious Williams and Nahjee Young…along with cheerleaders Jim Moore, Sydni Thompson, Micheyla Wynn and Jada Bigham.
