DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University's
Cletrell Pope has garnered the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's first Defensive Player Of The Week award, it was announced today [November 12, 2019].
The senior from Northport, Ala., averaged 11.7 rebounds, 2.7 blocked shots and 1.7 steals in the Wildcats' first three games of the season. His best outing came against Johnson (Fla.), when he totaled 19 boards, five blocks and one steal. He also averaged 12.7 points with 2.3 assists per game on offense.
Bethune-Cookman (1-2) returns home from a two-game road trip to host Trinity Baptist at 7 p.m. Friday in Moore Gymnasium.
